Communities of Practice Platform

We currently run two online communities: one for Non Medical Prescribing Leads in the North West, and another for a joint Care Homes initiative. Our online communities have the following features:

  • Document repository area for file sharing and best practice information
  • Message board
  • Directory of members
  • News feed
  • Simple click through (via single sign on) to our numeracy support platform and our Virtual Learning Environment where you can build and host your own courses and resources

Bespoke courses

We have access to a broad range of academic expertise within our member universities. We can develop CPD courses on behalf of Trusts and organisations using the expertise of one more more universities.

Build your own courses

You can easily build your own courses on our VLE with our course editor. It is very easy to provide access to the VLE to individuals from multiple organisations. For example we currently host a Holistic Nursing course for North Cumbria Hospital Trust and Morecombe Bay Foundation Trust.

For more information on our VLE click here.

We take a partnership approach to developing e-learning within Trusts, using our e-learning expertise to help deliver on-line training at the lowest possible costs without compromising on quality. Initially funded by the NHS, we are not driven by profit and through our five university partners strive to deliver flexible, timely and cost effective solutions.

Testimonial

Mid Cheshire Trust, claim that using our learning platform has saved them thousands, as a result of time saved through accessing the courses online, anywhere on any devise:

We have worked with the HE Co-op since 2015 and would highly recommend them to any organisation.  The team are professional and helpful and always strive to overcome any issues that we may have. We now have 3014 users on our e-learning platform, and the courses continue to be a success.

Through our work with the HE Co-op we have:
• Saved the equivalent of 160 ’12-hour shifts’ in mandatory training
•Saved 1046 training hours by moving our face to face training to an online course

We are able to manage our staff accounts and we can track when they have completed courses. We can download reports which are vital for our compliance figures.
